Put aside your fear – take action
Action takers and doers are the ones who win. Earlier or later. But they achieve what they are going for! No matter how much failures they experience. They are living with ‘tunnel vision’. They know their life direction. They are aware of their dreams. And going after them. Nobody can stop them.
And there is another group of people also. They also have dreams. They know their direction. But they do nothing because… of fear. Fear of what other people will think and say. Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. And much more.
As we all know - fear won’t help us move forward. Living in fears - is easiest path to get stuck. Each time when we focus on fear, we lose opportunities to get closer to our dreams and we lose our freedom as well. And again - next step - increasing anxiety and even depression can come. Because we start living our lives not being ourselves but trying to please anybody else.
I have experienced both.
I was dreamer. With lot of dreams. But did nothing to move forward. I had lot of fears living inside of my soul and my heart. I was living by focusing on obstacles. And I could see lot of obstacles to each my dream.
One of my dreams were – to learn dancesport. The main obstacles and stereotypes I was thinking about: “I’m too old to do it. It’s too late. I won’t be able to fulfill this dream anymore. This dream is not meant to become reality” (I was at the age 30+ at that time)
And then I had unexpected back surgery. Doctors confirmed: “You will never be able to live usual life again". And they named a lot of restrictions for my daily activities. One of them – no high physical load is allowed. Just walks. Simple activities. I can forgot about my dream about dancesport fully. It is not allowed for me. Too high intensity. Too high for me and my body.
I remember me sitting and reading those doctors' conclusions. And something happened inside to me. I made decision for myself and decided not to listen to them! Not to listen to anybody who says that I can’t. And stop telling those lies to myself also. As soon as I could I found my physiotherapist and we were exercising each day. I was persistent and purposeful. My body gradually become stronger and stronger. After 6 month of persistent daily work outs I was in my best shape ever. Even better as before surgery.
Then I found ballroom courses. I applied to them. Since then (its is about for 6 years long period) I have never stopped to dance again.
All these restrictions about everything are living within us. But if you decide (but it is do just your decision) to PUT ASIDE YOUR FEARS, you can achieve almost anything.
It is all about your perception and how you see yourself. It is not about others. It is just your attitude to yourself. On what you put your focus on – on taking actions or on living in fear and doing nothing to overcome them.
And I am action taker now. Despite any challenges and no matter how outer circumstances are sometimes unfavorable – I never give up and don’t let myself to get in stuck anymore.
And if necessary, I'm repeating those words again and again to myself: “I can do it. I will do it! No fear can stop me.” And this fulfilled dancesport dream reminds me. All restrictions and limitations are just in our minds. And we always can choose different path.
PUT ASIDE YOUR FEAR! Take action. Take action toward your dreams now.
